When a full truckload makes sense
FTL is suited to larger shipments, freight that occupies most of a trailer, or loads that benefit from avoiding consolidation with other shippers. A full truckload does not need to fill every available position: handling requirements and delivery timing also matter.
What to send dispatch
- Pickup and delivery cities, postal codes and appointment windows
- Commodity, total weight and pallet or piece count
- Dimensions, stackability and loading method
- Required equipment and any site restrictions
Confirm the load before the truck arrives
Tell dispatch whether the facilities have docks, whether loading is by forklift, and whether the receiver requires an appointment. Declare oversized pieces, unusual weight distribution or special handling before the rate is confirmed. Equipment and timing are subject to availability for the lane.
Before booking
Review the written rate and shipment instructions. Tell us about changes in weight, dimensions, loading arrangements or delivery timing before the truck is dispatched.
